1.     Cala Sa Sabolla in Cadaqués

Cap de Creus is home to a multitude of wild coves, some of which are among the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Brava. 

 

Among them, the beach of Sa Sabolla to the south of Cadaqués accessible by the covered way on foot or by the sea. Bring hiking boots to cover the 3 kilometers and something to refresh you especially in summer.

2.     Cala de l'Almadrava in Rosas

With its calm waters and easy access for all, this beach is the most popular in Roses. Families will appreciate the shelter it offers when the north wind blows in the region.

 

3.     Platja d'Empuriabrava

This beach, one of the best equipped on the Costa Brava, offers a magnificent view over the bay of Roses as well as the Cap de Creus and the Montgri massif.

With its 1575 meters long and 90 meters wide, this beach is the widest and certainly the windiest on the Costa Brava, which makes it easy to practice kitesurfing or windsurfing.

4.     Sa Tuna in Begur

Just an hour from Barcelona is Begur with one of the most picturesque coves of the Costa Brava. Bordered by charming fishermen's houses and a pine forest, Sa Tuna shelters a transparent sea on its small beach 80 meters long and 15 meters wide.
 

It is equipped with showers and parking nearby.

 

5.     Playa Port Bo in Calella de Palafrugell

Calella de Palafrugell, one of the most typical villages of the Costa Brava, has several magnificent beaches including one called Playa de Port Bo or Platja de les Barques.

 

In addition to the many services it has (showers, parking, lifeguards, rental of deckchairs and parasols), this beach enjoys an ideal location between typical houses and rocky reefs. It is therefore perfect for spending a day at the beach without sacrificing comfort and for snorkeling.

 

On the first Saturday of July, it hosts the great celebration festival of Cantada d'Havaneres; which has made it famous since 1966.

 

6.     Cala S'Alguer in Palamós

Uncrowded, Cala S'Alguer is nevertheless a real gem to discover on the Costa Brava. Its wild environment in the middle of a pine forest and its pretty pastel-colored fisherman's houses bordering the sea are all its charm.

 

This sandy and pebble beach will delight lovers of scuba diving since there are some specimens of corals to discover.

 

This authentic cove can be reached on foot, from the car park (near the Sant Esteve road), along the coastal path.

7.     Cala Del Pi in Platja d'Aro

With its transparent waters and fine sand, Cala del Pi is the most paradisiacal beach on the Costa Brava. Its shell shape and its natural environment help give the beach all its charm.

 

It does not offer any infrastructure but its beauty will amaze you after a 10-minute walk from Platja Gran. 

 

Admittedly isolated, this beach of 65 meters long and 15 meters wide remains very popular with tourists.

8.     Platja d'es Codolar in Tossa de Mar

Tossa has many beaches, each more beautiful than the last but that of es Codolar is really worth the detour.

 

A few minutes walk from the city center, is located at the foot of the medieval walls of the Vila Vella this old fishing beach whose boats are still moored on the shore. 

 

Admittedly tiny, the beach of es Codolar has the advantage of being protected from the wind with its high cliffs of Cap de Tossa which surround it. 

 

It is also the stopping place for many walkers on the covered way; coastal path that runs along the coast between Tossa and Lloret de Mar.

9.     Platja de Fenals in Lloret de Mar

Lloret de Mar, one of the largest seaside resorts on the Costa Brava, is the favorite meeting point for party-goers and lovers of large sandy beaches as it is one of the destinations in Catalonia with the most blue flags.

 

Fenals beach, the second largest in Lloret de Mar, stretches for 700 meters. On the fringes of the hustle and bustle of the city center (15 minutes on foot), this rather quiet beach, equipped with a miniclub, is perfect for families. The place is ideal for swimming or for practicing various sports activities.

 

10. Cala Sant Francesc in Blanes

Also known as Cala Bona, which can be translated as "Pretty cove", Sant Francesc is the southernmost cove of the Costa Brava.

 

It is located near the botanical garden of Marimurtra and two kilometers from the center of Blanes.

 

Surrounded by pine trees, this pretty little beach of fine golden sand (since it is only 220 meters long and 35 meters wide) has all the necessary facilities: showers , deckchairs, pedal boats, lifeguard station, snacks and more. restaurant.

 

Obviously in summer it is a victim of its success and therefore it is very difficult to find a parking space and on the beach.
