Do you have professional reasons to leave France to live in Spain with your whole family?

Like any parent, you want the best for your children. This change of life scares you and you are preoccupied with many questions: “Will I find a way of childcare for my infant? Where will I send my children to school? Will the quality be there? What sports can he practice? ”... and many more.

To confirm your choice, we invite you to read our article presenting the advantages of Spain for families.

Varied custody solutions

As in France, many types of childcare exist:

● the maternal assistant or madre de día: she looks after a maximum of 4 children under the age of 3 at home. The advantage is that the hours are more flexible than in daycare.

● the baby-sitter or canguro de niños: she takes care of your child from time to time for a few hours.

● the nanny or niñera: at your home, she takes care of your children (preparing their meals, giving them food, accompanying them to school or during extra-curricular activities, helping them with their homework. .) but also household chores.

● daycare: this type of childcare includes nurseries, public, private and company daycares, etc.

From 2 years old, you can also choose to send your children to school. Most nursery schools, especially private ones, welcome them in the morning, afternoon, all day or only for certain days depending on your needs.

Schools with quality education

In terms of your children's education, several choices of schools are available to you.

Choose:

● a local public school in order to allow your children to follow courses, in Spanish of course, of a quality similar to those in France. The advantage of public school is the total immersion in Spanish culture.

● a semi-private school: its cost is partly covered by the State, the other is your responsibility.

● a private school: it is very prestigious but quite expensive. The advantage is the reduced number of pupils: generally 10/12 pupils per class which facilitates learning. In Spain, there is a great variety: religious schools, bilingual schools, international schools and many foreign schools (French, English, German, Swedish…). More than a third of the children attend school there.

French schools allow your children to follow courses in their native language in accordance with French curricula.

International schools in Spain, some (in Madrid, Barcelona, on the Costa del Sol and on the Costa Blanca) increasingly renowned as being the best in Europe, offer education with an openness to the world. Some high schools offer dual delivery of the French baccalaureate and the Spanish bachillerato.

As English is one of the government's national education priorities, some schools teach it from kindergarten.

Education in Spain therefore has nothing to envy that of France.

On the other hand, in terms of higher education, Spain is in 6th place among European countries where the cost is the highest in relation to the standard of living of the inhabitants (according to a study by the Observatory of the University System ). The reason ? The prices of Spanish universities keep increasing but the quality is there.

Leisure for all tastes

No, your kids will not be bored in their free time!

When they are not with their Spanish or expatriate friends (and yes in Spain, there are a lot of French expatriates), they will be able to practice different sports:

● football

● the cyclimse

● tennis

● bolos (a game of skittles between bowling and pétanque) which is played only in Cantabria

● nautical activities:

○ rafting, canyoning and canoeing ... in the Galician rías and in the Pyrenees

○ sailing, windsurfing, surfing, stand up paddleboarding, kitesurfing, jet-skiing, water skiing and diving ... on the Mediterranean coast

● horse riding especially in the north of Spain because of its numerous horse farms

● winter sports

● ...

Water parks, tree climbing parks, mini-golf, karting, botanical gardens, shopping, swimming ... are activities that will allow you to spend unforgettable moments with your family during weekends and holidays.

By reading this article, you will have understood it, you will easily find a type of childcare for your infant, a quality school near your future accommodation as well as activities to occupy your whole family.
